Claro ScanPen is a powerful tool that facilitates reading aloud support by providing access to printed text materials and documents in multiple languages. By using your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, you can:

 <li>Highlight the specific section of text you want to hear spoken to you using your finger or stylus.</li>
 <li>Listen to Claro ScanPen as it instantly reads the chosen text back to you in the language of your choice.</li>
</ul>

You have the flexibility to highlight the entire text, word by word, or line by line with the touch of a finger or stylus. You can also stop the speech by tapping anywhere on the screen. Furthermore, Claro ScanPen seamlessly integrates with the built-in iOS VoiceOver accessibility feature, allowing users with low vision or blindness to easily access text.

In exam and test conditions, Claro ScanPen is ideal as it operates without internet access and doesn't rely on reference material. This app proves especially helpful for students who struggle with reading (e.g., dyslexic students), enabling them to listen to exam questions and important information. Additionally, Claro ScanPen quickly converts printed texts from class handouts, presentations, instructions, books, and more, making it perfect for independent learning and access.

Claro ScanPen leverages cutting-edge Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to convert images into text and utilizes iOS system voices to read it back accurately. Supported languages include:

To enhance the listening experience, consider purchasing higher-quality Nuance Expressive and Acapela voices within the app. Claro ScanPen seamlessly integrates with the popular Claro Reading and Writing support apps ClaroSpeak and ClaroPDF.

Claro ScanPen operates independently of internet access. To ensure more secure and controlled usage, explore the Apple iOS Guided Access feature, which locks your iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone into a single app. You can enable it by going to iOS Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access.

If needed, you can copy selected text to the clipboard by enabling the advanced setting in iOS Settings. Additionally, advanced settings in iOS Settings allow you to enable a share button, which enables you to export your image to other apps, email, or other destinations.

Now, with the latest update, Claro ScanPen supports drag and drop functionality for scanned text into compatible apps like Notes. This feature requires iOS 11 and an iPad that supports multi-tasking.
